The Mind and Body are ultimately connected and one cannot be affected without having a direct effect on the other. Therefore, every health issue has an effect on one’s mental and emotional well-being. When addressing mental health issues, a holistic approach is recommended. Many mental health issues are the result of negative, often subconscious, psychological programming as a result of past experiences. In addition to reprogramming one’s internal dialogue and belief systems, proper nutrition and physical health must be addressed. Often an integrated team approach of working with mental health specialists is necessary.
Common mental health issues include chronic stress, addiction and substance abuse, aggressive behavior, Anorexia Nervosa, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Bulimia, cognitive impairment, Depression, Obsessive-compulsive Disorder, panic attacks, Schizophrenia and Seasonal Affective Disorder.
